Ten years ago, the spirit of Firefly, freedom, camaraderie, and a love for the ’Verse that never fades brought the Brownoats together for the first time in Utah. Now, on the 10th anniversary, the Utah Browncoats are ready to return — hosting the 2026 Browncoat Ball in the breathtaking landscape of Zion National Park.
This anniversary ball will be a celebration of endurance, community, and the simple joy of gathering under the stars with people who share the same stubborn, shining love for the ’Verse. Zion gives us a place worthy of that celebration, beautiful, bold, and independent as any Browncoat could hope for. We are confident the Utah Browncoats can deliver a beautiful, albeit rustic Browncoat Ball that honors this legacy and makes the 2026 event unforgettable.
This mighty fine shindig will touch earth on October 9th, 2026, with the shiny Browncoat ball on October 10th, 2026. We’re setting down in Zion, Utah, a rugged stretch of the frontier where the earth rises up to meet the sky. Zion holds a history as deep as its canyons—from its ancient roots as a sanctuary for the Southern Paiute to its days as a hard-scrabble pioneer settlement, it has always been a place for those looking to find a little peace on the edge of the ’Verse.
With its majestic sandstone peaks and winding river trails, Zion offers a shiny ✨ slice of the high desert that feels like home for any traveler just passing through. Beyond the Ball, attendees can engage in rugged frontier adventures like guided canyoneering, off-roading, and skydiving, or explore natural wonders like the Coral Pink Sand Dunes and Moqui Sand Caves. For those seeking a more “civilized” pace, the area offers Western-themed gourmet dinners, historical museum tours, and world-class performances at the nearby Tuacahn Theater.
The Utah Browncoat host committee is so excited to welcome you to beautiful Utah and share some of the sites and wonders with Browcoats from all around the ’Verse! We’re still conjuring a few of the finer details, but here is what we have been able to rustle up:
- A Warm Welcome on the Rim — Friday Evening — We’ll kick things off as the sun dips below the mesas with a proper campfire, a s’mores bar, and enough snacks to keep a scavenger happy. Once the “black” settles in, we’ll huddle ‘round the fire for a Firefly-inspired Murder Mystery to see which of you has the cunning to outrun the Alliance.
- Fuel for the Crew — Saturday Morning — Before we head out on any contracts, we’re serving up a frontier-style breakfast and campfire coffee to make sure everyone is bright and shiny for the day’s adventures.
- Choose Your Contract — Saturday Day — You’ll have your pick of four different endeavors across this rugged landscape:
- Some Backwater Moon: A self-guided trek through the towering red cliffs and unmapped trails of spectacular Zion National Park.
- Dust & Debauchery: A shuttle ride to a local ghost town to walk among the ruins of “Earth That Was,” followed by a private drink at a frontier speakeasy to wash down the dust.
- Companion’s Respite: A high-society soak in geothermal waters and a “civilized” tea ceremony for those looking to find a little serenity.
- The Mellow Wash: A relaxed day at the resort for those needing “ship repairs,” featuring games, trivia, and a luncheon on the haunted history of the Utah frontier.
- Serenity Under the Stars — Saturday Night — We’ll trade our work clothes for our finest “threads” and enjoy a cocktail hour followed by a buffet feast featuring a main course, “some kind of hot cheese,” and—naturally—fresh strawberries. The night ends with called dancing to find your footing and an auction for the kind of shiny memorabilia that’ll make you the envy of the ’Verse.

Advanced Booking / Cancellation Policy
- 10% non-refundable, non-transferable fee of the total reservation amount if you cancel any time after booking, until 30 days before arrival.
- Cancellations made within 30 days prior to your arrival date, but outside of 48 hours, will incur a 50% non-refundable, non-transferable fee of the total reservation amount.
- No refunds will be provided for cancellations made within 48 hours of arrival.
- “No show” reservations will be cancelled after the first night.
Deposits
- 50% deposit due upon booking.
- Remaining balance is due 30 days before the arrival date.
- 100% deposit due if booking is within 30 days of arrival date.
