We are so pleased to present our music and comedy concert featuring fantastically shiny Browncoat entertainers Sean Faust and Mikey Mason! Click their pictures and links below to learn more, see them in action, and sample their amazing music. We’ve got a few more surprises too – the Ball’s gotta’ keep a little mystery!
Sean Faust (“Signal”) has headlined at many Can’t Stop The Serenity (CSTS) charity events (New York, Philadelphia & Pittsburgh), and in 2012 led what was, at the time, the largest ever live sing-along of “Hero Of Canton” onstage. Inspired by the movie “Serenity”, Sean has released his song “Signal” in May of 2014 and has been donating 50% of the money received from sales of this song to Equality Now on behalf of CSTS.
Not to be all spoilery, but if you don’t know the lyrics to the “Hero of Canton“, you might want to learn them by October 16th.
Mikey Mason (“She Don’t Like Firefly”, “Best Game Ever”) is a full-time standup comedian and singer/songwriter whose work has been featured on Sirius/XM Satellite Radio, DrDemento.com, Nerdist.com, MTV Geek News, SyFy’s Blastr.com, Time Magazine’s Techland, and on theFuMP.com.
Mikey has made multiple appearances both on NBC and at the legendary House Of Blues, headlined on all four coasts and performed at Geek Media Expo, Browncoat Ball, and RPG conventions across the US. He is also a proud media sponsor of Can’t Stop the Serenity, and performs at at least one CSTS charity event each year.
After the concert stroll along the Boardwalk to hear tales of the hauntings and shipwrecks that line the historic oceanfront. The oceanfront looks pretty modern nowadays but Virginia Beach was settled and active during Jamestown. When it became colonist land is a bit fuzzy, but Virginia historical documents refer to it in 1613. So there’s plenty of time for shipwrecks, hauntings and history to land on our shores.
Take in the moon, the breeze, and the starry sky as our tour guides regale you with Haunted Beach.

Purposefully untimed Badger’s Adventure gives you the chance to get in a game of mini golf, grab a pint, do some shopping or engage in other distractions while still playing the game. So take your time, but find Badger by 1:00pm or he might be gone!
*Badger’s Adventure does have a fair amount of walking, but you may rent one of the oceanfront’s bike carts if you prefer. No reason you can’t pedal to where you want to be. Pedal carts are available for rent throughout the oceanfront. We will try to arrange rentals outside the hotel.

At noon the official Browncoat Ball activities come to an end but the Virginia Beach Browncoats live here and the hotel is responsible for clean-up. 😉 So as long as you want to hang out, there will be crew nearby. Enjoy the surf, the hotel pool and hot tub, or head back to the oceanfront for a little shopping or wandering.
Not sure what to do, find a Virginia Beach Browncoat and misbehave together some! Officially the Ball is over and many have to leave; we hope to see you again at the 2016 Ball to pick up where we all left off! But for those who have some extra time, extra unscheduled fun can be had.
Unfortunately you can’t take all the tracks at once, but the Aquarium (River’s End), A.R.E. (Book’s Retreat), iFly (Jayne’s Thrilling Heroics), and Cape Henry Lighthouse (Wash’s Sky) are all still around if you want to head over with like-minded crew. Your Captain hopes to be relaxing poolside, possibly until dinner. Others might be heading out for:
Noon – 4:00pm
Gem, Mineral & Jewelry Show – a.k.a. Zoe’s Shore Leave track. Vendors from across the US will show silver, jewelry, stones, pearls, beads, findings, mineral specimens, crystals, & lapidary supplies. Display of rocks & minerals and demos of lapidary arts by two Gem & Mineral Societies. Get expert appraisals too. Location is the high-style Virginia Beach Convention Center.
1:00pm – 6:00pm
After the Ball some folks are planning to head over to the Virginia Beach Craft Beer Festival. Tickets are about $30 and include the sampling, a commemorative glass, and live entertainment. Over 80 craft beers from over 50 breweries will be available for sampling. The Festival is within walking distance of the Browncoat Ball hotel (which is advised since there is no free parking) at 30th St & Sand.
Join us at Big Italy where you can dine like a Tam for a very reasonable number of credits. We hope that all of you Independents still in town will meet us for a delicious and fun family-style Italian dinner.
It’s only 6 blocks from the Browncoat Ball hotel at 34th/A. There is free parking behind Big Italy for those driving.
The Oceanaire Ultra Martini Lounge has to be one of the coolest bars in all of Virginia Beach. It’s also across the street from Big Italy. Recommended for locals and visitors staying in the Browncoat Ball hotel one more night.
