Refunds:
The BCB committee is required to make non-refundable deposits and purchases while planning and executing the 2010 Browncoat Ball. As a result, we are unable to grant refunds for BCB registrations. Refunds for hotel reservations, airline tickets, etc. are at the discretion of the issuing authorities.
Drugs & Alcohol:
The 2010 Browncoat Ball Charlotte and the Charlotte Browncoats recognize all state and federal laws regarding the possession, use and distribution of illegal substances. The Browncoat Ball staff reserves the right to revoke 2010 Browncoat Ball (BCB) membership of any guest found with or discovered under the influence of illegal substances.

The state of North Carolina recognizes the legal drinking age as 21 years old. If the consumption of alcohol by a minor in a public place is brought to the attention of the BCB Staff, the staff will take appropriate measures and request that the guest leave the area immediately.
Smoking:
Charlotte has a strict smoking ban in restaurants and bars. Most public areas also carry a smoking ban. The Hilton Charlotte Executive Park is 100% non-smoking. Smoking and the use of chewing tobacco are also prohibited on the CATS train.
Liability:
You attend the 2010 Browncoat Ball Charlotte at your own will, by your own consent and at your own risk. The Browncoat Ball and the Charlotte Browncoats take no responsibility for anything which may happen during your participation in BCB activities. We make no guarantee, explicit or implicit, that the various venues, locations, tours, means of transport, activities and events of the BCB are free of potential hazards.
Children:
No children under the age of 16 will be admitted to any of the 2010 Browncoat Ball functions. No baby sitting or child care services will be provided by the Charlotte Browncoats or the Hilton. Guests are responsible for arranging for their own child care.

The BCB staff request that any children 16 years and older attending any 2010 Browncoat Ball activity be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times. Parents and guardians will be responsible for conduct of such children.
Photo Release:
You might be required to review and sign a model/photo release allowing photographic images and video from the event to be posted on future Browncoat Ball sites and other social networking sites such as Facebook.
Federal & State Laws:
As upstanding Browncoats we expect that all attendees will comply with all Federal laws and laws and regulations of the state of North Carolina and city of Charlotte.
Peacebonding Weapons:

No live firearms of any kind will be permitted at any activity hosted by the BCB.

The peacebonding of weapons will be handled by LAW officers or ‘deputized’ Registration Staff volunteers. This may be accomplished at the Marshall’s Office, next to Registration, or by a deputized member of the staff at the Hospitality Suite.

Ball participants will present their weapons at the time of registration/check-in or as soon afterwards as possible for peacebonding, which will be accomplished by zip-tying the weapon into its sheath or holster.

Individuals found wearing unbonded weapons or brandishing said weapons during the event are subject to the confiscation of their weapon for the duration of the event and may pick the confiscated weapon up from the Registration at checkout.

For the purposes of professional photography sessions on Saturday, a LAW officer will be present to remove the peacebond tie for said photographs and re-secure upon their completion.

Wearing or public display of weapons outside the designated Browncoat Ball areas will result in confiscation of the weapon in question for the duration of the event and may also result in arrest and civil or criminal penalties.
